Redneck Haiku
Posted in Fun & Games on December 11, 2001
You remember that issue of the Mensokie where we had all those haiku? Well, these were some that didn’t quite make it into the issue. Help yerself to some ‘Redneck Haiku’, courtesy of the East Texas Mensa Spectrum (editor Charles Dixon said members Elisa Maloff Reiter and Paul Fanning found them on the internet — thanks y’all). Post yer own haiku, redneck or otherwise, in the comments.
DESIRE
Darn, in that tube-top
You make me almost forget
you are my cousin
DEPRIVED
In Wal-Mart toy aisle
Wailing boy wants ‘rassling doll
Mama whups his rear
BEAUTY
Naked in repose
Silvery silhouette girls
Adorn my mudflaps
EXUBERANCE
Joyous, playful, bright
Trailer park girl rolls in puddle
Of old motor oil
ALONE
Seeking solitude
Carl’s ex-wife Tammy files
For Restraining Order
DRAMA
Set the VCR
Dukes of Hazard Marathon
At 9 O’Clock
IMPOUNDED
Sixty-five dollars
And cyclone fence keeps me from
My El Camino
GATHERING
In the morning mist
Mama searches K-Mart
for Moon Pies and Red Man
Central Oklahoma Mensa
