Another Reason Not To Eat Fried Foods

Scientists in Sweden have discovered [Update: broken link removed] that cooking foods high in carbohydrates, like potatoes and cereals, can create acrylamide, a potential carcinogen. I’m posting this, not to warn you, but to point out this quote from the article:

The research was deemed so important that the scientists decided on the unusual step of going public with their findings before the research had been officially published in an academic journal.

Since when has this become “unusual?” :-)
