Biodegradable Plastic

Wired has an article about a biodegradable plastic developed in Australia. It has the look and feel of plastic, can be molded like plastic, and costs about the same. When it gets wet, it breaks down into carbon dioxide and water. Interesting stuff — the article also mentions some other efforts to develop alternatives to plastic.
