Isaac Asimov's Foundation The Inspiration For Al-Qaida?

A story on the Guardian Unlimited documents a theory that’s been making the rounds on the Internet: That Osama Bin Laden was inspired by Isaac Asimov’s Foundation novel. As someone who has read that book dozens of times, I find the theory sketchy at best. What was more interesting was the evidence that the book did inspire the Japanese cult that released toxic gas in Tokyo subways.
