Corporate Subscriptions (CSUB)
Posted in Local Editor Resources on October 1, 2002
Have you finally made it through the piles & piles of newsletters sent during the full mailing? If you’ve managed to narrow your selections down to 20 CSUBs, the next step is to send your choices to National, which is much easier this year with the handy online form [Update 4/1/06: Broken link removed]. Username and password from the Mensa Bulletin required.
And remember, if you’re in a region (like Region 6) that has a regional newsletter exchange program, you won’t need to sign up for those newsletters again. I didn’t know better as a newbie editor last year… and boy, did I get griped out! :-) If you’re not sure whether your region has one, check with your RVC or ask another editor from your region.
For any new editors out there, the local group corporate subscription program allows you to choose 20 newsletters from other local groups around the country, which you’ll then receive every month for a year. It’s a great source of ideas and reprint materials. There is no charge for your group to subscribe. Most editors choose their subscriptions following the full mailing, in which each editor receives the local newsletter of every other local group. Editors make their CSUB choices based on many factors — regions, group size, newsletter quality, past awards won, or even because a faithful member wants to keep track of what’s going on in their last group.
Note: CSUB choices are due by October 31st, and will take effect in January.
