More Turnpike Tournament Fun
Posted in Central Oklahoma Mensa on September 8, 2003
Louanne Duckworth recently informed the COM_Announce email list that she and Bruce are adding to this weekend’s Tulsa Turnpike Tournament fun with a couple of extra events. First, for you book lovers, they’ll be visiting Gardner’s Used Books, Music, Videos & Collectibles, from 4 to 6 p.m. on Saturday. Gardner’s claims to have over two million used books, including 95,000 science fiction and 67,000 mystery, with most books half-price. The bookstore even has an attached Mexican restaurant. Next, Louanne and Bruce will be going on to the Illinois river. Contact Louanne if you’re interested in spending Sunday the 14th floating with them — they have a few extra truck inner tubes if you RSVP. Click ‘Read More’ below for details.
Louanne says anyone interested in floating the river should meet at Hanging Rock at 11 a.m. on Sunday. She recommends wearing long pants, long sleeve shirt, hat, and river shoes for comfort, as rubber can chafe.
