• A new event, Pow-Owl CaMp, has extended their regular registration deadline to Monday, July 26. The event, to be held August 20-22, 2004, at Buffalo Gap Camp near Winchester, VA, is like a mini-summer-camp for all ages. Highlights include singing and s’mores around the campfire, cabins with games and book swaps, a lake, and hiking trails. Registration is $185. • Western Pennsylvania Mensa is holding their Rivers 3 RG over Labor Day weekend (September 3-6, 2004). Highlights of this creative RG include an Arts and Crafts Fair, a poetry slam, an Artists and Models Ball, and programs and workshops focusing on creativity. Registration rates are $60-75 until August 1st, and registration instructions are available on their web site.
• The Ski SIG of American Mensa invites Mensa members worldwide to join them for snow skiing on the Rocky Mountains of Aspen and Snowmass. They have booked space for February 5-13, 2005, and they will take bookings for the first 4 nights, the last 4 nights, or all 8 nights. For details, join the SkiSIG Announce mailing list.
• American Mensa and MERF have announced the topic for Colloquium 2005: “Earth in Mind: Fueling the Future.” Listen to internationally recognized speakers address the problems and promise of renewable energy, then share your thoughts in round-table discussions with fellow Mensans. The colloquium will be held March 4-6, 2005, in Tucson, Arizona. Registration fees are $150-200 until November 30, 2004, and online registration is available.
