AMC Candidates Announced, National Nominations Needed

The candidates for the 2005 AMC Election have been announced. Our Regional Vice-Chair candidates for Region 6 (RVC-6) are Stan Alluisi and Ray O’Connor.

National Mensa has asked for nominations for the following awards:

• The Abbie Proctor of the Year Award and the Dr. Salny Award for Outstanding Service in the Area of Testing [Update 1/14/06: broken links removed] Nominations due April 11, 2005.
• The 2005 National Awards program. Nominations due April 25, 2005 — click ‘Read More’ below for details on making a nomination.

National Award nominations are for those members whose service to American Mensa as a Society, or achievements benefiting the Society, have resulted in a significant contribution to the organization (as distinguished from service or contributions to local groups, regions, SIGs, etc., which may have their own awards programs.)

Your nomination submission should detail the reasons why the member is especially deserving of a National Award, and the qualifications which make that member a special candidate for such an award - the more information provided, the better the Committee can consider the nomination. The Committee’s judging process determines what level of award the candidate may receive, so nominations don’t need to be specific for a given level of award.

The national awards include Certificates of Appreciation, National Service Awards, Distinguished Service Awards, and the Life Membership Award.
