Lundeens Coping With Major Family Events

Posted in Central Oklahoma Mensa on September 8, 2005

Jon and TJ Lundeen’s daughter Diane, along with her husband, Edgar, have lost their home and both cars in the New Orleans hurricane and flood. A friend in Baton Rouge has lent them an apartment and is delaying any rent collection until they recover their bank account. They had to evacuate with only the cash they had on hand, and the banks, of course, were also flooded. The Lundeens have another generation to be concerned about, since they have just moved TJ’s father into Oklahoma City from Illinois. The past week, when they needed time to help daughter and husband, TJ had to go back to Illinois to move her Dad’s furniture out of his apartment there or pay another month’s rent! Much stress on both Lundeens, but, as The Joyce put it, “Thank God for Max Hedges!” Jon had to go back to work, but long-time friend Max took TJ up to Illinois to help move the furniture. Please pull for them in this time of both physical and emotional stress — if you can, call with offers of physical help. Both TJ and Max have bad backs (she has had the type of surgery Brian has had and Max had to have surgery for a damaged rotator cuff), and old wrecks like me are not much good except for praying and warm thoughts.
