RGs, Scuba & More: Upcoming Mensa Events

Have the upcoming holidays put you in the mood for travel? Then you’ll want to check out these events:

• North Texas Mensa is holding their Feast of Pleasures and Delights Regional Gathering in Dallas later this week (November 24-27). This year’s events include fascinating speakers, games, Science Fiction Costume Ball, indoor pool and hot tub parties, and lots of other interesting activities.
• The Scuba SIG’s trip to Cozumel is still on for December 8-12. According to trip organizers, the island is recovering quickly from Wilma, and both the hotel (Casa Mexicana) and the dive operation (Dive with Martin) are ready for their arrival.
• If you’re hoping to travel a little further from home, try Mensa at Oasis, December 2-5. Held twice a year in the English Lake District, this event is perfect for Mensans who enjoy swimming, hiking, sports, and health spas.
• The St. Louis RG will be held on President’s Day Weekend (February 17-19, 2006), at the Holiday Inn Westport in St. Louis. (Note: This is a correction from the information listed in the latest Mensa Bulletin.) This fabulous fun time costs $70 (banquet included in price) and will bring a ray of sunshine into your gloomy February.
• The Club Med SIG Gathering in Guadeloupe will be held February 4-11, 2006, at Guadeloupe’s Club Med. Activities include snorkeling, sailing, windsurfing, swimming, kayaking, flying trapeze, beach volleyball, and a whole host of other things.
