Speaker Meeting: Bill Bernhardt

Date: Wednesday, April 14 2004

Time: 7:30 p.m.
Host: Donna (Oklahoma) Davis
Phone: 844-7577

National best-selling author William Bernhardt’s series of mysteries, centered on a lawyer called Ben Kincaid, have cleaned up on awards. He was inducted into the Oklahoma Writers Hall of Fame in 1997. He previously has won the Oklahoma Book Award for his 1994 release “Perfect Justice” and later for his 1999 book “Dark Justice.” In 2000 he won the H. Louise Cobb Distinguished Author Award — and was awarded a Lifetime Career Achievement Award at the 2000 Booklovers Convention in Houston, Texas.

With the release of Bill’s 19th book, “Hate Crime,” now available in bookstores, we have the 13th book in the Ben Kincaid series. “Death Row,” the national best-selling 12th entry in the Ben Kincaid series, is now available in paperback. The series is particularly “user-friendly” to Oklahomans because of the central character’s Tulsa practice and his Nichols Hills parents.

Bill’s talents include that of being a congenial, informative and witty speaker. For more information on the author, his web site is www.williambernhardt.com.

At this meeting we will collect your donations of children’s books (age appropriate for 0-6 years old) for Norman’s early reading enrichment program, “Success by Six.” This will help us celebrate the “Week of the Child,” April 18-25.
