This one will be a real ball. Rivalry rules in this high-spirited, low-talented softball game between the two Oklahoma Mensas. We’re at bat for our reputation here, but it’s a relaxed kind of competition, open to all family members regardless of age. There’s room for players and spectators. Bring a ball, bat, or whatever else you might have to play softball (bases are beer kegs, aren’t they?), and we’ll pool our equipment and enthusiasm. Do bring a cooler with your own drinks and food, although there is bound to be some potluck sharing. If you have a COM t-shirt, wear it – unless we are losing.

Directions: I-44 to Tulsa. Once in west Tulsa, look for the highway signs showing how to get onto Highway 75 north-bound. Use the cloverleaf exchange to make that transition. North on Hwy. 75 to exit 3A for Southwest Boulevard. Going down the exit ramp for Southwest Blvd., take the left-most lane. Turn left on Southwest Blvd. Go 1- 1/2 blocks, keeping in the left lane until you reach 23rd Street. Turn left on 23rd, follow the roadway’s curve to the right until it intersects with 21st Street. Turn left on 21st. Pass signs for Koch Truck Station and Peak Sulpher, Inc. (right-hand side) and you’ll soon see the words “Chandler Park” in white letters on the hillside. Move to the left lane when you see the sign, turn left, and then right to enter the park. Follow the curved road up the hill past the first control gate (on the right) and continue straight to the next set of gates. Go through those gates and past the picnic pavilion. Shortly, you will see a sign that says “Pedestrians Have Right of Way.” Take the left road branch near the sign. You will pass construction areas before coming to Coulson Field on the left.
