To your right is a food court\, including Rick's Cafe\, Taco Bueno\, Burger King\, and Cinnabon. There are tables in that area\, and there you will find Jon Lundeen with a sign that says \"MENSA.\" Gather\, kibbitz\, and/or see what Lady Luck has in store for us. Some might want to choose one of the two 'real' restaurants in the casino (see article on page 10) for a good meal. This casino is one of the nicer casinos in the state and fun even if you don't gamble. If you live north and need a ride\, call the Lundeens beforehand. They will haul as many as the Town & Country can handle. Those going with (or following) the Lundeens should gather at 6:00 pm. We are leaving for Norman at 6:15 sharp in order to arrive at Riverwind on time to greet our independently arriving members. We will be returning to OKC at 9:30 sharp. Centrally located in the gardens is a gigantic glass cylinder. Meet the Crystal Bridge Tropical Conservatory. There is a fee to enter the Crystal Bridge\, but it is very reasonable. A 35-foot waterfall sets off paths lined with more than 1\,000 species of exotic plants\, divided into the Tropical Rain Forest Zone and the Dry Tropical Zone. This afternoon he will share with us everything you wanted to know and some things you didn't know to ask about this agency. Do you know about our Statewide Intelligence Network? How about our fantastic Crimes against Children Unit? Director Langley will tell us about the tips and tricks of his profession\, such as the use of computers and databases the agency uses to solve crimes\, how polygraphs are used\, the ways in which our crime scene agents are now trained to increase solve rates\, and many other things that protect citizens. It's better than television\, folks! This afternoon promises to be one of the most fascinating meetings we have held in a long time!\n\nBright and personable\, Director Langley has lectured internationally in China and taught leadership in law enforcement to the Albanian National Police in Tirana\, Albania. He is a member of Phi Kappa Phi National Honor Society. Under his leadership\, the OSBI has attained national recognition for becoming one of only four law enforcement agencies in the state of Oklahoma to be accredited through the Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies. His colorful career includes being the lead investigator on the only long-term \"sting operation\" in the Northwest Region in Woodward\, Oklahoma. In February 1995\, he was chosen from a field of nation-wide applicants to serve as the Director of the OSBI\, and he has served longer than any other Director in the history of that agency.\n\nAnd now he is coming to speak to Central Oklahoma Mensa. Our intrepid CQ team will have just finished 90 grueling minutes of pitting their memories and knowledge banks against a test of cultural literacy\, with their efforts hopefully better than other Mensa groups nationwide so that we can win some bucks for our scholarship fund.\n\nOnce the answer sheets are sealed at 4:30 p.m. on the dot\, it's our turn to second-guess them at leisure. With nothing at stake except laughter once the answers are sealed\, we get the fun of seeing how well we might have done individually had we been on a team. It's an entertaining afternoon\, although you might learn how to say\, “I shudda known that\,” in five different languages after hearing tired team members say it over and over again as they uncover what they should have answered.\n\nThis is also a terrific\, non-intimidating way to get acquainted with CQ so you can decide if you want to be on a team next year. The Tuckers' home is perfect for entertaining -- many nooks and crannies for conversation\, and an inviting backyard. Bring a munchie to re-energize our team and the rest of the COM gang.
